A relaxed and optimistic mindset will set the tone of the whole interaction. Give them a minute to familiarize themselves with their new surroundings. Rushing up to them will make them feel uncomfortable and put them on the defense.
Comfortably and confidently approach them within three minutes, but hold back at first on the hand shake and the name exchange, unless they offer first.
Find the balance. Is this your first time visiting Our Dealership? This allows you to see if they have been working with another salesperson.
