Both theorems and problems are called propositions. An axiom is an assertion whose truth is universally admitted. A postulate is a problem whose solution is taken for granted. A corollary is an obvious consequence of one or more propositions, A scholium is an explanatory remark made with refer- ence to one or more preceding propositions.
